The '59 "Cat's Eye" Chevy was wild looking for sure but IMHO that made it bold and beautiful; what a statement it made! With that said, I have to admit that I preferred the Ford Galaxie that year....had one (Canadian Meteor) and loved it.

@jack-dodds Thanks guys. Kevin, it does look different depending on what light it's in. Jack, I love the '59 Ford as well. I wish DM would have done the 58/59 like they did with the Chevys. Dad had a '59 like that but with black/white interior when I was a little feller. Here's the same color on my Sedan Delivery.😁

@jack-dodds I like the Ford’s face, it’s a more subdued look of that years gorgeous Bird. The rest of the car is kind of generic in my opinion.

how unique was the styling? OK fins, but fins as we had not seen the like before! A few sold here in Australia. Have this DM convertible and WCPDs wonderful green and cream hardtop and their blue El Camino. Missing the wagon, one day!

To my eyes, the '59 Chevy is work of art from any angle you look at it.
My first real car was a '59 Impala 2-door hardtop, white with red interior, and I loved that car! I wasn't a fan of the white exterior, but at that time in my young life, beggars couldn't be choosers.
I have the DM '59's and a couple of the WCPD versions as well. I'd be sad if I didn't have them.

I remember that my dad had a '56 Oldsmobile in red over white and then he got that '59 Impala in white with the multicolored blue interior. I was 6 years old and I absolutely fell in love with that car. It was a two-door hardtop.
