Refers both to the cars and the Franklin Mint models. The 1967 VW was bare bones transportation and the 34 year old model is simple old tech, but still looks pretty darn nice on the shelf. Flash forward to the year 2000 and the "New Millennium Beetle" that offered both high tech and some luxury appointments. Options on this car included some real horsepower if you ordered the 150 HP GLS 1.9 liter turbo 4 which actually allowed you to zoom up steep grades and run the AC at the same time!!! The Millennium Beetle model also comes with similar sophistication even offering posable side windows. Cute little accessories include a bud vase with flower, a pair of gloves in the glove compartment and a 2000 era flip phone on the dash. FM poured a lot of features in that little Bug.

Both are excellent models for what they are. I have the white '67 Beetle, old-tech for sure but it oozes charm. The new Beetles have far more features and details, but less charm. I do like them both.
