Since the ...a thought of DM,FM, or Precision, to give a past/present set of cars-Chargers-Mustangs-same colors-same opts. Pick the yr. closest to the look of the retro-eg.'69 Mustang/'05 Mustang. If the Mustang's already done, produce a similar colored '05/06. Start now, since this could continue in future, with the re-emergence of the Camaro, and Challenger in the works. Sounds like fun to me. Could be i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g!!=;P.S...where's that " Cougar "..retro, that is, Mercury???
Since the " Retro Age " is here..( got shorted, guys..)
Clarke, the Mints won't do Modern Muscle because 1/24 collectors won't buy them.
Take a poll here. Most don't like the new retro cars. I may be proven wrong, in which case, perhaps the Mints will give you your wish.
Patty
Hi, Patty....the retros are selling on the street..just maybe..
..one may come to be a " classic ". Then, you'd have a Classic diecast "before" it's a classic..or would that be a first and 2nd generation classic " set "?? C'mon " IMAGINE " there's no barriers...
To block along the way!
No threat of losses...
WE could make the FM's day!!
Not talkin' Hondas..
Just Chev, Dodge, and, Ford's OK!!!
Whadda' ya think, Patty??? And the whole bunch a big whack of gas-guzzlin " AMERICAN IRON " That'll get you guys " Pumped ", eh Arnold!!!!!!!!!:D
Clarke, I LOVE the new Muscle Cars.....
...especially the Mustang and the upcoming Camaro. I would also buy the new Challenger, Charger, etc.
They are stunning. But the only scale that is making these beauties is 1/18. You'll just have to make the jump, Clarke. 1/18 is riding a high wave right now. Why not surf it? LOL.
Patty, I have a few great 1/18ths..better priced, etc., but..
they like a lotta space, and the 1/24 intricacies just allow my ego to seem that much ...let us say..."Bigger"..By the way, your " former " '57 looks quite nice sittin' pretty with the '57 red/white topped coupe..the '58 turq. conv., the '61 creamy guy, and a few more fellas nearby..she's not lonely, but does mention you a lot.
Thanks fer th' contact..good to see from you, as usual!!=;
I would definitely buy a 1/24 "Modern" Mustang (2005 or 2006). LOVE 'EM!
One customer at a time..we got 2, Michael
Patty, I love the Retro Mustang. Hope the Camaro makes it too.
These are cars you can run hard and not worry about them braking the way you have to do with a restored Muscle Car.
They offer all the performance plus they have modern brakes, tires, handling, AC and decent gas mileage.
What's not to like?
Tell the DM to make a 2006 Mustang coupe and I'll park it next to my GMP '67 coupe, DM 70' Boss-429 coupe and my yet to be ordered '71 Boss-351.
I like the coupes, Mustang convertibles don't ring my bell.

I both agree and disagree Patty.
I do think that the overall interest in modern musclecars is mainly limited to current owners of these cars, whereas the older musclecars have an appeal to those who either grew up in the period or wished they could own one. So the actual demand for the newer stuff is questionable. I personally would love to see the 2003/2004 Cobra produced only because I owned one. And if I owned a 2005 Mustang I would probably want one in my collection. A car that might REALLY sell might just be the new Shelby GT-500 about to hit showrooms very soon!
Mr. Arthur, you're nominated--4--MR.MAGNANIMOUS'06-EH!!
Dan 'n all-anybody "thrilled" by the "new" category..Miata-Sky-Solstace?!
Clarke, There is a lot of potential for big sales of the Sky and Solstice.
If they make both cars available with stick and standard transmissions and some powerplant options.
Love to see an OHC V-6 under the hood or perhaps the Olds "Quad-4" engine.
The Mazda Miata has had this market cornered for many years. GM could get their share of this market if they stick to producing a quality car and don't take the path they did with the Pontiac Fiero. The Mazda has marginal power and GM could put on a lot of pressure with a little more grunt.
When the Fiero was announced back around 1984 it sounded like a dream come true. Center engine, independent suspension all around, disc brakes..could have been a world beater. But no, GM executives decided to use Chevy Citation front ends because they had a lot of them on hand.
Compromises led to the downfall of a car that could have been great.
Lets hope they pick a direction for the Sky and Solstice and stick to their guns.
Many people have a short spot in their garage that would be perfect for a small sports car.

As you say, don't skimp, give th'pep/handlin','n the " Sky's the Limit-or "!!
