The mid-fifties were the Golden Age for... PINK!!! Even at the age of ten, I was surprised my mother bought me a pink shirt (with, of course, charcoal accents). But pink was for girls, I thought... but I had to admit, it was cool. Soon the 'Pink Rage' was everywhere. It seemed every bathroom in new houses of the day (included my own) was tiled in that color combo. Even the tile back splash in the kitchen was similarly tiled.
Beyond the fact that DM killed this '57 Thunderbird making it, IMHO, the definitive 1/24 model of this iconic Ford, the pink/charcoal black combo just makes this such a nostalgic piece for me. I even pose a pair of characters from "American Graffiti". LOL

I even had a pink leisure suit! 🤣 🤣Â
Super pictures and back story Rich. My family and I somehow managed to avoid the pink invasion back in the day but I do have a polo shirt in pink today.
Very nice. Mine was missing some PE trim when it arrived from DM, the replacement had paint blemishes, so I kept the original-I hope to repair it someday.
