this particular 1914 Stutz 4E Bearcat with unbroken provenance back to its original owner with stops in the collections of "Hemp" Oliver, Winthrop Rockefeller and William F Harrah. It was quite the speedy runabout in its day powered by a 60 HP 389 cid flat 4 coupled to a 3 speed transaxle. The early Model A made its debut at the 1911 Indy 500. This E model offered a more street friendly version with electric lights an starter. Certainly a status symbol in the day, it cost 4 times the price of a Model T. In that pre-WWl era it won countless events and to championships. A bone stock 1915 model shattered the California to New York endurance time. The car was driven by Erwin "Cannonball" Baker... inspiring the Cannonball Run.
