I've been looking at that venerable Mack B61 in its many iterations for decades at shows. It's a wonderful model that I never pulled the trigger on. It looks great in Fire Dept livery.

That's some antenna on the Ford. I guess it's keeping in touch with the Voyager spacecraft.

I too have been looking at the wrecker for awhile. I've never gotten it or any of the others I've seem. I do have the Ford Tudor, it's very nice.

Great photos.

Thanx, everybody. Once upon a time, long, long ago, the CFD B61 wrecker was the holy grail of all the 1st Gear big scale tows. It consistently sold for a premium over the other liveries and sometimes commanded really stupid money ($300-$400). It has since come down a bit and is usually closer to the other ones than it used to be, that is, if you can find one.

The Ford is just a nice model. Although it's sealed and not quite up to the level of detail of cars from the Mints, it's a good example of what 1st Gear always gets right: the overall shape is spot on and finish is flawless. Of all the 1st Gear models I have (about 50) only one has ever developed any paint rash let alone diecast cancer, and it's only a minor case. Many of them are more than 20 years old.

I have the Ernie Holmes demonstrator version. I normally don't have room for trucks in this scale but I made an exception in this case .Love your combination Gene.

I also have the Mack logo version. It was the first one I got. I was just a little surprised that the winches and booms were static. I guess DM spoiled me!
