John :mine work....................
It's a little tricky to get it into the right position.
Hi David: Can you give me the details, on how to get them to work?
I tried to move the shifter to the left, and then forward, but no worky?:-/
Push just a bit harder.
I have the red one and had some problems getting the backup lights to work at first too.
You need to push a bit harder on the lever to get the switch engaged. The fear, of course, is pushing too hard and breaking the lever off. There's a resistance to overcome to activate the switch.
What I found works best, and seems safest, is to put my index finger at an angle against the base of the shifter, and resting on the console. Then gently push forward on the lever. That reduces the leverage and the risk of pushing too hard on the shifter. You'll feel the switch give as it engages.
Thanks Ted! I also have the red one, I works but, I had to have a replacement for the first one that I received, because of the same problem, plus the instrument lights did not work on the right side. I'm going to give up on this one. I have pushed the shifter very hard in just about every combination. It just isn't going to work. I will have to send it back for a replacement. Thanks to all for your help!
