Another gem from WCPD. Losing them was just as bad as losing FM,DM,GMP and CMC from the 1/24 scale market IMO.
@bob-jackman I agree Bob; it was a great shame indeed. I value the dozen or so WCPD models I have in my collection.
That was Brian that started WCPD ? Not sure if I remembered his name. Got to meet him many, many years ago at a model show at the Anaheim Convention center and purchased one of his ruby red '56 Continentals.
Wish I had it, gave it to my youngest brother.

I'd love to have a white '59 Impala from WCPD.
Yes Steve it was Brian Dunning. Every time I called him I knew I was in for a long conversation but he was great fun to talk with about his models. I have several of each with my favorite being the blue 62 Impala hardtop as it is an exact replica of a friend's 409/409 HP 4 speed.
@bob-jackman Bob; That was my pleasant experience whenever I called Brian Dunning as well. He seemed to be a great guy. He was originally from Vancouver; said his dad was a Vancouver cop. As I recall, their next model planned before they went out of the model car business was the 1959 Chev Impala wagon; I would have loved to own that one.
Thanks Gents !

a masterpiece as always beautifully photographed thanks Rich. I emailed Brian a couple of times from Australia, yes, a terrific guy. He had a 4 car special going at the time which I took him up on. Such a tragedy to see what happened to WCPD. The guy put his heart, and no doubt a considerable amount of money into a business venture that was appreciated by only a limited market. Reflecting on it, maybe the 1/24 mint quality market was only really big enough for 2 major players? Perhaps Brian's experience is why other scale quality manufacturers are reluctant to enter 1/24?
@geoff-jowett What was the reason for the demise of WCPD? Did he lose his vendor or was it because of poor sales? I thought we were buying virtually everything he made.
I'd love to know that too... ??
Oh crap, how we all lost the BEST manufacturers... .
I'd love to have a white '59 Impala from WCPD.
Like this one?
This is a 1:1 that was crafted by Chet Prust, I acquired it a few years ago.

WCPD under Brians's creative genius made some of the finest models available in 1:24. I talked to him a couple of times; he was a great guy.
I have been fortunate to have added 70 WCPD models to my collection. I cherish every one of them.

Richard, great photos. I love this model. The interior is very cool.
As far as the top-up option-it looks so cool that way too.
