One of the first and better Independent Dealer issues from early FM. STILL gorgeous!

It is a beauty. I'd love one without the skirts.😎

Before this Chevy was released in this color combo, I had purchased FM's green/white version direct from FM.  Sometime later, my wife was with some friends up in Hinckley (a small northern city in Minnesota) at a gift shop, and there was this brown/white version.

She didn't know if I'd had it or not, so she didn't buy it.  Telling me about it when she got home, I was excited and called FM to order it.  They claimed there was no such color combo and that it wasn't available.  I was adamant in telling them it existed, and they insisted it didn't.  Later I come to find out that yes it was indeed a FM model, but only available through independent retailers.

I drove up to Hinckley and purchased it.  To this day as I reflect on this experience, I still think it was weird that FM would not be able to sell a model or even be aware of it.  My guess would be that they probably lost some additional sales for that car because of it.

On the '56 Chevy, the rear wheel well was awkward looking (to my eyes) without skirts.
