The 1:1 30 Cadillac like DM's 1:12 is 18.54 ' long. My USSBB is almost a foot and a half LONGER! WOW
And you were worried it would not fill the space at the Long Beach, CA Marina?
Doug the BB is one of the longest american made coupes EVER! 230+ inches long!
Of course a GREAT deal of the 77-79 Mark Vs length is due to the bumpers sticking out a mile, but the actual body is still quite long, If the Mark V had more flush bumpers front and rear you could easily shave off 13-16" from its length. Keep in mind the bumper guards stick out PAST the bumpers I believe which also contributes to the LONG sounding 230" length. Over 19 FEET!!!!!! 19.2 to be exact! While many people refer to the 69-71 Mark III as a BOAT it is rather compact by late 60s, early 70s luxury car standards and was actually refered to on some magazine ads as "The Baby Lincoln" FACT not my opinion! It measured in at 216.1 " so its about 1 1/2 feet shorter then the USS Bill Blass. Its also heavier and is around 5,000 lbs which makes for a vault like car and ride! You don't know what solid is until you've rode in a Mark III. The Mark III was relatively a low production # car with no sales year exceeding about 27,000 units. Total production for 69-71 was about 78,000 TOTAL. And even today some 40+ years since it was made you still see what seems like an endless supply of Mark IIIs. This is indeed a testament to the quality its' built and a statement about the longevity these cars can provide. It also helps that it is a very handsome car and many people coveted their Mark IIIs thus the reason many still are around today!
By comparison I think there were OVER 220,000 Mark Vs made. It was a very good seller and a popular model!
LOL. By the way, I was there many years ago. Is the Spruce Goose still there too?
The Spruce Goose was sold and moved to a new permanent location in Oregon a few years ago.
I really miss it being in Long Beach. I've gone to see it at the Long Beach museum many times. It never ceased to amaze and awe.
Gotcha beat shorty...
My vehicle is 22.5 feet without the rear bumper. Of course it's not a car...
Well techically if you count the hitch its 23.5 feet! LOL
And you cant sneak the hitch into a garage so you'd need one that is about 23.5 ' long!! lol
The new home is the Flight museum in Mc Minville Oregon west of Salem on the road to Lincoln city from Beaverton, OR. It is some sight has it's own building and surrounding display. Huge would be the size.
Nice and space enough for a Smart when you get near the city. Drop the ramps & out you go!
