The 1924 Bugatti Type 35 and its 'A', 'B' and 'C' variants were probably the most successful race cars in history. It began with this 2.0 liter straight 8 and ended with a supercharged 2.3 liter 8 in the Type 35B. At a mere 1654 lbs, it could reach speeds over 134 mph. Its signature cast aluminum wheels saved weight and helped cool the brakes and was considered the best handling race car of the 1920s. This diminutive Franklin Mint model packs a whole lot of detail into this superb replica.  The engine, firewall and dash show Bugatti's signature machine turned finish. It wasn't until a couple of years later that I pulled the little tab on the seat cushion to find it removable to reveal even more detailing including springs to support the driver's side cushion.. Finished in French Racing Blue, it's quite an amazing replica of this historic and iconic race car.

@david-green Me too David. I also have a 1/18 scale from CMC. Bugatti certainly got their money's worth out of this design. Wonderful pictures Rich which is probably why I bought the model in the first place.

Cute model for sure. I can appreciate the significance of the model, but I just couldn't muster any interest of having one in my collection.
