Delaheye
I am expecting 2 of these cars shortly as my CC was just billed the balance owed. All I can say is this car is worth waiting for. I have been watching the build since its inception and am very excited to have the opportunity to own one of these very very limited edition museum pieces.
If the people who bought the model aren't complaining.....
why are you complaining? You didn't buy one.
Thanks! Why do I have in my head then that the price was always $295????
I could swear I read that some place thus the reason I didnt order one. I didnt want to spend $300 for a static model. It looks beautiful and $200ish is reasonable.
Automodello's 1/24 models are $299, that's probably what you are thinking of
One minute you've got the blues and now you're doing a complete about face. This is like being back in middle school. Grow up. My ONLY point is if this awesome, spectacular model arrives in pieces, what is there to oh and ah about? OH I know, because it's a club car you don't want to offend the powers that be?
Ryan isn't our new LECC an Automodello model???
That said I still thought it was originally listed as and always $295/9 ???
I didn't get this model as mentioned but .....
You ALL have valid points! The ones saying how gorgeous it is, I understand as the pictures speak for themselves. As for the "issues" with it.... That too is understandable especially given the price point! Even if you buy a model for $29.95 you dont expect it to arrive with parts in the box or about to fall off. On the flip side I can understand where Miles is comming from. GOD forbid this was a FM model or even a DM model and a certain newly issued model surfaced with loose parts or parts that fell off. Said companies(especially TFM) would get blasted, people would say "OH this is it my last FM purchse the model is a joke .... ETC" so I do "get" all comments. Perhaps you answered your own question Miles! People might not want to insult the powers that be OR tarnish Automodellos reputation which is relatively new to 1:24th scale as far as I know, though they might have been doing this scale for a long time, I dont know. As far as the cost of this model ..... IF it's a subject matter that really WOWs you or that you've been wanting I can totally understand paying the price even for a curbside model. Last year I bought a pair of LE 1:43rd scale Mark IIIs. One was black, and one was the discontinued Maroon one. THe pair cost me $650!!! a princely sum for two small "static" models BUT it's subject matter that greatly interested me as I own a Mark III.
Johns post above 42780.3.1.2.1.2 has the price breakdown for the model
I don't think anybody has actually said the Delahaye was made by Automodello, It is labeled as manufatured by D4C. It's even listed that way in the car list and reviews.
If you read the entire post.....
You'd have read that I an delighted to have this model.
As to your "Grow up" remark, I would suggest you keep a civil tone. It would at least be a sign of your maturity. I'll be responsible for mine.
Richard I didnt say anything about growing up???
I have the utmost respect for YOU! I would never say such a thing!!!
Miles why are you calling Richard out? He's happy with his purchase as I am also, mine has no issues
I don't think Richard deserves the Grow Up comment. He bought a car from a new source & some items were not as they should be. He like me is willing to put some effort forward rather than return it after all Not Everything in Life is Perfect.
You are probably correct were it a Danbury Mint or Franklin Mint car because we have purchased from them for quite a period of time (Read they are not new at this) which has us expecting nothing less than perfection. I am willing to cut Automodello some slack as they are learning what works and what doesn't with resin.
I have the Phantom Corsair and two Delahayes and am delighted with all so much so I ordered all the other offerings John Fitch Olds Toronado, The 34 Packard and of course the Marmon Meteor. If they show up needing some items fixed I will do that before a return but I do that with everything that comes, keep a tube of super glue around it comes in handy and of course a tooth pick to put a droplet on the part without Damage.
Then Again you did not even purchase one so you have not held one in hand (or Box on its platform) so you have no real standard of comparison. Peace Brother!
Oh Miles was the one who said "grow up" i was wondering....
Richard posted under my comment thus I thought it was directed towards me.
Naw, You're Kool Phil No Problem!
This wasn't about your post, Phil.....
read through the thread again. Sorry if that was confusing.
Thanks Richard I gathered what was going on now!
I wouldnt ever saw such a thing to anyone UNLESS it was really warranted!!!!
