This is the finished sneak peek from last week, a 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 convertible in Mist Gray over Burlingame Red. I think it was Jack Dodds that mentioned this color combo in a Rocket Zone post last month. Thank you, Jack! Interior is unchanged from the White/Red original Olds convertible.
Now, here's a question for you all: White top or Black?
It needs a black top. That is a wonderful color combination-excellent work.

I agree with John, black top. The model is beautiful Pete.
Personally I like the white top. Pete that is great work.
Fine, fine work Pete ..... an elegantly colored piece ,with a proud, bold stance ....black top please
Absolutely dazzling Pete. Black top for me.

Fantastic job. With colors Mist Gray and Burlingame Red, a black top would seem to be called for. However, black matches nothing at all. The white top at least matches and compliments the whitewalls! But I would display top-down and stow the tops.
Well Tony, the tires are half black as well as white.

You're RIGHT!! Well then, I vote for a RED top!!
Another beautiful job done! I vote for the black top.
Thanks everyone! I had to laugh at Bob's response to Tony. Looks like black is the clear winner. For now I think I'll follow Tony's advice and display it with the top down. When the weather cools down the black top will go up.
Well, I'm out of Oldsmobiles so time to figure out the next repaint!
@pete-rovero How about the '57 Ford retractable? There is the '55 & '56 Ford as well.....great color selection available in those years!
