I remember when the first 2nd generation VW Beetles first showed up on the road. It used to freak me out on the highway as I wasn't sure whether the car was coming or going. TFM celebrated the new Millennium with this LE Beetle finished in a sparkly deep blue. The metallizer particle size scales to scale snow flakes. This is a fun little model with lots of operating features. The interior has all these accessories in it that smacks of a George Bojaciuk creation. There's a homage to the hippie Beetle days with a big daisy and the glove compartment actually has gloves in it! The driver seemed to have left his/her vintage cell phone on the dash.
These models of the new Beetle are over the top in details and the body panels fit perfectly.
Here is a chameleon colored VW that was probably considered an alternative for the millennial model. The photochromic paint was applied over red factory paint. The grille is unpainted molded plastic that proves this is original FM sample. I added an unpainted (stripped) passenger mirror (not shown on these pictures). EBay find when they liquidated the FM archives several years ago, these the actual auction pictures.
Nice! I got into collecting die casts late in the game and my entire collection came from eBay

Same here. 90% came from eBay.
I've bought a lot off ebay too but my favourite secondary market source is the D4C auction, hopefully back soon?
