FM's 1929 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 model was first released in 1988 in a blue black tutone. Years later (where's our database?) it was re-released on red. By the time it reached the stores, the order came to take them off the shelves and send them back to Pa headquarters. So what was the gaffe and how did it get past the final review? Something didn't look right about the model and theories abounded on the forum. The answer lied in the wheels which had an inner hub outboard of the brake drum that gave the image a track so wide the tires were beyond the fenders. The result gave the model an aggressive muscle car stance... which, although inaccurate, looked kinda cool... an antique muscle car if you will.

Yeah! Like you my friend, I miss the reviews. They're supposed to be back soon. But I recall that we listed two versions of the red model with different tires and wheels and labeled one as the 'error' version.

Meanwhile, your photos are spectacular - love the open air 'feel' of them!

And, if I might, can we add the silver & black 'update' version to the conversation?

all these years I never knew what the "error version" meant. Thanks Rich. Would love to grab the silver and black version one day.
