The new L.E. FM 1936 ford Convertible with trailer looks cool!
It will look great next to the D4C 1939 Ford with trailer. Left click on the link http://www.franklinmint.com/product1.aspx?SID=2&Product_ID=9214
and the Challenger! wow!

Thanks Randy May for the link and the great news!
It may be a bit too late to ask,but were there trailers like the one shown here at that time? Did people actually have color matched trailers or is this some "Marketing wonk's" idea of a way to make some more money? Just asking.
The Challenger appears to be very high-end tech wise...internal door hinges for sure!

The Stanley Steamer is also nice! OMG where is my budget?

Not only were there no color matched trailers, there were also no tu-tone '36 Fords!
There's a Black and Grey 1929 RR Phantom I too.
Are those scissor hood hinges?
Got to have the Stanley Steamer for sure, maybe the Challenger.
Yes...they are scissor hinges...good eye! I had to really squint myself!
I'm wondering. Is there something wrong with making money?
That one does look very nice.
I truly believe IT IS TIME for the D4C board members to cut the umbilical cord with Franklin Mint. I've always had a suspicion that FM had its hands in the pockets of the D4C. Since when do we club members OWE anything to TFM?? This is the second or third time that we club members have paid a premium price for an exclusive model and then have FM turn around and issue a repaint of that exact model. The Hudson Hornet I could let slide because there were other models of that car, but the Ford and trailer was definitely a unique model combination. It is time that we club member stepped up and demanded that we have a truly exclusive and unique model. Contact WCPD and have Brian make us a special model that will NOT be re-released as a repaint. WCPD would be happy to make it for us, especially when we put money up front and guarantee a fixed number of units as we do now with FM. I am sure that we would have a guarantee from Brian that he would not issue the same model as a repaint. The man certainly has more ethics than that.
LETS HERE IT FROM THE MEMBERS..................
Sorry if I offended anyone with my comments but I'm beginning to see where the D4C site is coming from.... Money is becoming very hard to come by these days and I'd like to think that I'm not being rolled over by some steam engine (collaberation).
I'm in for the Stanley Steamer too if it really is 1:24 and not a 1:16 repaint
Jerry, actually the Club car was a '39 Ford. This is a '36.
The trailer, though, looks to be identical. And I do agree that THAT takes away from some of the uniqueness of the Club piece. But we all know that Franklin Mint commonly issues repaints and LEs with slight changes. So I don't see the big deal with this one being similar to the Club piece, which will still continue to be unique. ??
The trailer could be a "custom" which was done then with woodies. Not sure about metal, though.
Here is an interesting link showing pics of woodies with various types of custom trailers from the day.
