Looks to be a "custom paint" with custom modern trailer IMO.
While trailers were popular back in the '30s, looking at the actual trailer, detailing and construction, it looks to be more of a modern rendition of what might have been available back then.
Notice the red pin-striping on the car. Definitely a modern touch. Certainly not available back in the day from the factory. Maybe someone very rich paid handsomely to have the factory do it. 🙂
It isn't about money, its about authenticity....
It seems to me that a collection of replica cars should be replicas of actual cars, in all respects...color, accessories, etc. I don't imagine any of us would accept a 39 Ford with a 55 Chevy engine under the hood, so why do we accept a car painted (as someone else posted) in a way that isn't authentic and towing a trailer that is the result of someone's imagination? Why not make a woody teardrop instead? If we were collectors or builders of military aircraft I doubt we would purchase a model of a B-25 in the livery of a B-29.
It's just my opinion.
I wish they had done the Challenger in a different color but it still looks like a must have car to me.:x
It does read 1/24, but at a 1500 edition size......
I'd expect repaints down the road.
Question: Over 8" in length indicates 1/16 scale...doesn't it?
8 3/4" in length isn't 1/24. Good point, Randy the question now is: Which stat is correct? Odds are the scale is quoted wrong.
FM should be a little more respectful... Actually the trailer doesn't look consistant with the car

At a second thought, I don't think I'll ever buy it. When I looked for the second time I noticed the trailer looks odd with this car except for the color. The 36 ford's rear doesn't match the trailer.
Its Not The First Time You Have Had to Squint 🙂
LOL! I O U!!!
FM measurements are off most of the times.
I agree Jerry. And remember the on the D4C Packard that now appears on the latest FM repaint in brown.
You are right on the year, but it is the overall concept (looks) that I object to.
Martin is right when he says that the car and trailer do not look right together because of the style differences. Regardless, it still is NOT good business to turn your back and do injustice to your loyal customers. I for one, will not be buying any more FM models directly from FM in the future........
Jer, It's a 36 Ford not a 39 you're right on the trailer!
You know, sitting here looking at my full set of LECCs, the only model that hasn't been reissued (after) the LECC model, I believe, is the '30 Caddy. Yes, there is the black Capone Caddy but it came before the LECC.... I don't consider the Vettes as clones because so many of them are made by multiple manufacturers..... OK, FM is in the business to make money yes, but they are losing previous customers because of their business tactics....
Correction: the '98 Vette has not been cloned (YET).
