I really shouldn't say "the other" as there was a line up of 1/24 gassers, but it was "the other" 1/24 that was pretty much made for our club: the 1948 Cadillac Series 62 Cabriolet bodied by Jacques Saoutchik. Ironically, the one of two made was bought by Louis Ritter for his wife, for himself, he bought one of those Figoni et Falaschi bodied Talbot Lagos.
another stunning representation and pics, thanks Rich
I never got around to adding this model. I understand that some were made of diecast metal and some were made of resin, is this correct?
@bob-jackman It started as a resin model. They went to metal because we gave them enough pre-order commitments to do a run of 450. I don't remember how many resin models were made... somewhere around 50?
This is an amazing model and the centerpiece in my collection. I was on the fence over purchasing this model, at the time, it was so much different than the other models in my collection. I went for it, and I was thrilled with it when it arrived. As it is white metal, this model is incredibly heavy.

I think 80 resins were made, they found the resin build very cost ineffective and decided to scrap the run, but there was a great interest and then they transitioned to white metal, which was their craft anyway.
The resin version has no base and the headlights are yellow, it is much harder to find, the base has a plaque "Master by P.Kenna" or something like this.

Rich, did you have an unopened one? I have one too. A time capsule, purchased it years ago on eBay for $400 and haven't opened it yet, I may have been scammed ... who knows?
@chav Yessir. #50 is still in its shipping box. Over time, I've offered it to members for what I paid for it. You'll never get a more "NIB" than that. Maybe I'll bury it in a time capsule for the next century collector. BTW: what was the MSRP on this from MC? Was it $450? My memory is fading fast.
@rich-sufficool I was not a collector yet when it was initially offered, at that time I was poor newcomer immigrant. I would guess 450, if the talbot lago was 399
I don't have it, but I sure admire it's beauty. 😊
I checked my database and I paid $349 when I acquired the model in February 2000. Mine is #90. I've had it since new and its initial release.
WOW! It just hit me after my post, that was 25yrs ago. It just doesn't seem possible it was that long ago.

@jcarnutz I was relying on your meticulous record keeping, John.
