This may be a dumb question, but do collectors like to collect brochures as part of the hobby?

I don't mean the people that obtain some just for the purpose of reselling them.

Many do. I'm not one of them though.

Yes I collect them

I like to have a brochure for every car I own and others that might come along. Always looking for them if you are looking to dump any. I don't sell them like others.

I have alot, probably at least a few dozen. I don't want to sell them but give them away.

I could easily sell them as alot, or individually, but I want them to go to a good home. Aslo, I have quite a few National Geographics, and of course all of them have car ads. I'm thinking about removing them to sell or give to collectors. In addtion to the brochures, having the ads would truly help to complete one's collection.

Jim, I don't see anything wrong with selling brochures.

I do collect brochures too, but I am not crazy...

to match each model with a brochure. I've purchased couple of lots with hundreds brochures each, and I'd probably sell some duplicates some day. Occasionally I would buy a single brochure if the price is reasonable, or if I have a high valued model to sell. Adding brochure and paperwork to a valuable piece, has the potential to draw the attention of more collectors looking for high quality item.

I just wanted to let the moderators know that I'm not soliciting to sell.

Anyway, I want to give most of them away, but I'll have to figure out if I want to give the whole shebang at once, or to just list some of the ones that I have and see who is interested. I would only request help with the postage, as I have at least several dozen. I'm on disability, so funds are tight, and even though I could easily sell them, giving them away would make me happy. I'm sorry if I'm going on and on about the subject.

There is nothing wrong with selling brochures

We all need money to live.I buy brochures often myself.
I got 5 big boxes of brochures and catalogs from a guy free. For me to turn around and sell them to profit from his gift to me would be wrong, to me at least. If I have a brochure and you need it, it's yours. By doing this I have helped a fellow collector out. In the end is this not what we all are here for.

I see your point Jim. Selling gift for a good cause is fine too.

I have any brochure received - whether or not I bought the car. For awhile - as I'm sure you'll all agree - I'd get sometimes at least two mailings a week in the heyday
