I love the '66 Chevelle, my all time favorite year and I wanted a decent 1/24 version for my collection. The Maisto version just doesn't cut it. So I wanted to see what I could do with the Monogram Street Rat kit converting it into a stock version. If you're familiar with this kit, you know the serious work that went into this one, whew. It was challenging, and it would be a long post telling everything I done with this one. I need to take some better pics, but I'm happy with how it turned out.😊
I love the car; love the '66 Chevelle. I bought one, in gold, for my wife. What you've done with this model isn't transparent but the final result is - an amazingly accurate depiction of my favorite Chevelle. LOVE the color and workmanship. Pics are just fine!!
Love the Chevelle and the pics...good going Geno!

Great job once again Geno; your color choice is perfect. I love all the SS Chevelles from '64 thru '72....the '69 is my favorite.
Geno as usual, one beautiful model, and I know what you must have gone through to convert the model. I have the built rat rod.
@perrone1 Tony, this is what the kit looks like. I fixed the flip front end and tube frame and used a chassis from a Monogram '64 GTO. The paint is '66 Chevy Madeira Maroon. And thank you all.😊
@geoff-jowett Thanks Geoff, the headlights lenses are clear and I used a photo-etched grille and the rest of the photo-etched set from Model Car Garage. It does have an engine block for show from underneath, but it is just a curbside. For models with chrome headlights, I use a wash of matte clear, let that dry for a couple of days, then a wash of semi-gloss clear. It gives a pretty realistic effect. But thats just the way I do it.😊
It is an amazing model and an outstanding craftsman that created it. A beauty.

@jcarnutz John, thank you. It's appreciated more than you can imagine. 💯😊
@geno thanks Geno, I'll have a hunt around for the semi gloss clear wash
