I saw this one on eBay this morning, almost skipped it over thinking it was the ‘40 that I own. When I realized what it was I instantly thought of of John Merrit’s post on the model and how cool it looked to me.
I figured it was a long shot to find one after hearing members reply’s so it was off to the back burner. I’ve never really seen one for sale for all this time that I can recall, so this buy it now price seemed somewhat reasonable, so even though it was at my upper limit for a model I jumped headfirst into it.
That was DM's attempt at a repaint of the maroon 47 Ford. Issues over the model's handling, build and contract issues, terminated the relationship between DM and the vendor. The vendor then undertook selling what supply they had.
Some were excellent, some had missing pieces and some had mismatched paint on different panels. Hope yours comes to you looking great.
’Thank’s for your pre-arrival blessing Tony! I am totally stoked. I really never thought I’d be owning this model, never even bothered to hunt for it. It arrived in absolutely pristine, undisplayed condition, and if there were any quality or paint issues, I sure don’t discern any. The Tuscan Tan looks amazing on this boat, period perfect to my eyes. Hooray for me!
Congrats Kev, that is a stunning model. Enjoy brother.😊💯👍
@geno Thanks Geno, I’m surely enjoying it! I’ve been away from posting, been super busy for an old man. We’re getting a new puppy next week and my wife is acting like we’re expecting a baby (human). She has the house full of doggie stuff, told her we should have had a baby shower.
Very nice Ford! The puppy is a cute little fella too. Congrats on both!
@jack-dodds Thanks Jack, but he’s a she, I’ve always been outnumbered.
Congrats and CONGRATS! Paint issues would show up in places like mismatched doors. Yours look to be perfect!
The second congratulations is for the expected pupperdoodle. Don't forget our cigars!
