My youngest son was born June 1980, one of the hottest Dallas summers on record.
After spending a week off I went back to the mail route. It was 113 that day and I thought I was gonna melt.
If someone had a sprinkler on that summer I’d walk through it, holding my mail pouch high to keep it dry.
enjoyed your pictures, John.

YES! I lived in Joshua, TX, south of D/FW, in 1980. It was the hottest year on record for as long as I lived there. Still have the Tee-Shirt that says: "I Survived Texas 1980".
