I agree with you Geno. It's hard to believe that M2 can make a really nice diecast in 1/24 and at a very reasonable price point. For another $30-50, could you image what we would have?
M2 Machines are an awesome bang-for-the-buck. And while it's true they may not be made to the standards of a DM, when held up close & personal detail & feature-wise, but on display they are excellent.
Thanks guys, I wish we would have gotten some AMX's and Javelin's in 1/24. Tony, you are correct. On the shelf most don't know the difference between the M2's and the Mint models. If you think about it, they're as good or better than some of the early mint models.🙂Â

Excellent point!!Â

I'll quote Geno too because that was exactly what I was going to say!
I've just had a closer look at my Challengers while still in the showcase. 2 FM and 3 M2s. There's no way I can spot a difference unless I take them out and examine them closely.Â
I just wish M2 would broaden their range. AMCs, Javelins actually sold well here in Australia in the mid, late 60s. I'd be all over a couple if they would give them a go.
PS. Thought I'd check out AMC in Australia and found this great little summary for AMC fans.

@grockwood yes, I've considered this one to see if I could modify it to stock. It's still up in the air though. 🙂
Great post Geno. I agree with Tony and Geoff's remarks about the M2 models, many of which I have in my collection.
