I would agree with Ransom Olds. Did you know he was beaten by another owner/driver?

Alexander Winton, who was a Scot and owner of the Winton Motor Carriage Company, beat Ransom Olds in a race, I think on Daytona Beach, in the late 1890's by 0.2 seconds to prove that Winton was better than Oldsmobile.

Louis Chevrolet was a race car driver, but I'm not sure he owned a car company.

He and William Durant were partners in the original Chevrolet company

Marlowe is beginning to have a problem! 3, Olds, Winton, Chevrolet proven owner/racers so far. Then of course there is the one and only Mr Shelby.

Trivia question answer:

Congrats to Robert and Paul! Ransom Olds was NOT the answer I was looking for but after some research, I saw that Ransom Olds was also a correct answer. The answer to the question I was looking for was E. L. Cord. Henry Ford did race his Ford, but he was never a race car driver.

Paul also mentioned Carroll Shelby which would be correct too.

Marlowe, My answer was E.L.Cord but when I saw some answers of Ransom Olds then I figured I must be wrong? After all Paul Is Very Hard to Challenge, Mr. encylopedia or more. Not that Robert is any slouch either I just decided to bequeth it to Paul! Please No Disrespect to Paul or Robert they were accurate (Smile). You & I picked up E.L. Cord from somewhere? That's why I did not post the E.L.Cord answer. Great Fake out guys! You got me.
