Both are great pickups. I have them, I am partial to the red one.

Drank that Kool-Aid and discovered it was spiked.

Now I collect the trucks, delivery vehicles, and as my recent post shows, other truck based vehicles. Looking at my home office desk there are two different Borden delivery trucks, one of the Coke trucks, the second postal truck from DM and a pickup that's a duplicate for one at the office missing a mirror.

Once I've recovered and can finish the office shelving in the woodshop, they will go in along with Morton's, Coke, and a custom Chevy still in their boxes. I'll bring the missing mirror home and try my hand at a mild resto mod.

Dennis, I gave up on sneaking the boxes in years ago. I just go to the door, pick up the box, bring it in the house, get "the look" and take it upstairs.

Sometimes, she just doesn't notice.

But I seem to be paying for it more now. She's on a shoe kick. I swear this year alone she's bought 10 pairs of shoes. I broach the subject pretending that I'm half interested, I get "the look" and then go about my business.

Women's shoes are expensive by the way...

I don't get "the look" anymore....

... left my wife ten years ago. After 30 years of marriage, I'd had enough. One of the few things I took was my model car collection. I overlooked three large boxes of some of my best builds in the attic, but she told my grown daughter, "He'll never see them again". My daughter told me afterwards, "Hell Dad, no WONDER you left". Ain't regretted it a single day. I can buy all the models I can afford, display them anywhere I want, sit on the sofa all day in my underwear watching football or racing, and nobody bitches at me about it :))

I was just talking about the truck based Kool-Aid.

Don't get me started on the pre-war, 60s-90s European sports/performance classics, or Corvettes. Add in other scales ( especially 1:43 Brooklin, Neo, Joueff, etc and Exoto & CMW 1:18/1:20) and resin & white metal kits and 1:12 Anson/JRL Vipers and Pocher large multimedia car kits and...

Oh and trains. N scale for basement layout and O scale kits for static dioramas.

But the worst looks come when a new woodworking tool goes in the garage or small power tool goes in the basement (like the mid size lathe I've been considering as well as a benchtop drill press and belt/disc combo sander and the small projects table saw for the basement shop).

I think being bipolar and OCD doesn't mix well with building and collecting hobbies. Smile

At the 30 year mark now. Celebrated it last January.

Lucky for me, mine is a personal penny pitcher. She's not into clothes or shoes or even jewelry. Years ago, she was into porcelain dolls and carousel horses and that was cool as I got to put shelves up for her to display them nut now she just watches Netflix and takes care of me and reminds me to pay the bills before I spend on hobbies. Her big expense is the casino but she limits it to $100 a week and I spend way more than that on my hobbies.
