Racing Friday! Here we have a Mercedes 300 SLR from Historic Replicars. The SLR stands for Sport Light-Racing. Similar to other Historic Replicars creations, this little curbside model is quite heavy. It came on a perspex base with signature plaques. In the last photo, you can see PMA’s interpretation of the #722.

Here are mine, I had to replace the windshield of the HR model as it arrived shattered in multiple pieces.

Rebadged Saturday! Today we have a 2002 SAIC Saibao. SAIC stands for Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation. The Saibao is a rebadged 1993 Opel/Vauxhall/Holden/Chevrolet Combo B. The Chinese automotive market was booming in the early 2000s, and consumers were hungry for new models. Many Chinese manufacturers imported retired production lines from European automakers. This is how the Saibao/Combo B came about. The model is nicely done, everything opens, and the front tires are steerable.

Prototype Sunday! Today we have a Pontiac Grand Prix from Franklin Mint. Other than the livery, it is mostly the same as the released #43 Richard Petty car. Enjoy!

Hot Rod Monday! Here we have a 1934 Ford from Hot Wheels’ Legends series. It came as a set, one in the 1/24th scale as shown here and one in the 1/64th scale. The model is not as intricate as Franklin Mint’s Ford hot rods, but it is definitely nicely done. Doors, trunk, and hood are functional, and the front wheels are steerable.

Volkswagen Tuesday! Today we have a 1970 VW Karmann Ghia Cabriolet from Paul’s Model Art/Minichamps. It has Euro-type bumpers. The Franklin Mint version has US-type bumpers and feels a little heavier. Both are nicely detailed.

Chrysler Wednesday! Here we have an Australian market Chrysler CH Series from Trax. This is a resin curbside model. The build quality is similar to Automodello’s 1/24th line.

It looks like a MOPAR mid-sized platform with some interesting sheet metal. Kinda cool.

@geoff-jowett Yes. They worked the tooling to death. I think all the colors of the rainbow on those Ghias. The added luggage rack came later.
