Claudio Lopez Osses is a collector from Argentina, he used to post here long time ago, perhaps sometime in 2013-14 he posted images of his BMW 328 that was a custom built. This is how I learned about Metal 24. Later I found his page on flickr. Follow the link bellow for the BMW's pictures and other 1/24 cool models. Unfortunately the flickr webpage has not been updated since 2014.
thanks for the link Chav, yes now I too remember seeing Claudios collection many years ago. I think it was featured in the collections section of the old website? How about that display room? I'll spend sometime going over it. What I've seen so far is extraordinary, the Ferrari California, the Bugatti that Lu featured a while ago, and my favourite car design, the BMW 507. Much appreciated.
Ultra rare model. I'd say thats only the 2nd time I've seen one in 20 odd years of checking the secondary markets. Dinkum Classics, unfortunately now longer producing, have a sort of a model cult following here in Australia.
Custom Sunday! Today we have a 1931 Ford Model A Custom Panel Truck from Danbury Mint. It is a beauty!
I hesitated buying this model for long time, but once I got it never regretted it. Mine however, and I suspect all of them, have asymmetry, sort of parts-alignment problem in the front end. The radiator and the hood are a bit crooked relative to the windshield and the body. I did correct the radiator position by adding a washer between the chassis and the radiator on one of the side and although that fixed the radiator alignment it also caused geometric misalignments of the hood panels. That is what led me to believe that the is issue is spread across the entire batch of models. Take a look, staring at the model's face and compare the vertical lines of the radiator and the body...
Ultimately, I was able to achieve some alignment correction with my washer fix, but the repair required lots of trials and it wasn't trivial.
Also here is a very early prototype of this machine:
What’s The Difference Monday! Today we have a 1992 Rolls Royce Corniche IV (white) from Franklin Mint. Other than the color, it is identical to the blue 1993 version.
@lu isn't that great! We're locked down here in Melbourne. Amongst other hobby related activities I've been revisiting this whole post. Up to page 23. Some remarkable models and information in here. You hit the jackpot with this one Lu!
