We've come a long way from the days of critiquing diecast releases to spending our time marveling at the expertise of our very fine photo taking members and in my case wishing I had bought this one or another as these pics are coming from the photo archives of our members. Any thoughts on what I'm thinking?

1:24s have NOT died. Since DM left us in 2014 - I've been having a ball catching up...

...on what I missed the first time around. Only problem is there are several I'd like to have; but, can't afford now due to the secondary market prices. Sort of poetic since a lot of guys didn't want to pay $200+ for a quality diecast...isn't it?!

I recently took stock of my 1:24 collection. I'm now at ' 203 '. And based on what is available - I'm just about done.
I certainly hope that we'll see some NEW 1:24 releases. But, if we don't - I'll enjoy my collection 'AS IS'.

As for terrific photos we all enjoy; I've said all along that 'that' is a hobby all unto itself. I thoroughly appreciate the photos and the effort it takes to post them.

I'm having a ball. Life is good in '1:24-land'.
But...there's always room for improvement! LOL!

Tom, I display many (but not nearly all) of my cars in Pulaski Curio cabinets. I have even added extra lighting to enhance their appearance BUT looking at the staged pictures of these beauties goes far beyond what I see in a cabinet. I am grateful to all who post them.

Worse days are coming ...

? especially for manufacturers and distributors. I think the 1:18 and 1:43 market is already oversaturated. Perhaps one day the manufacturers will reconsider the 1:24 market since 1:24 scale is destined to survive in kits and cheap entry level models that the kids enjoy.

Billy ... I am right there with you my friend .... And Yes Tom - I remember the blasting days

I'm still having a blast

I was very close to getting out because I was so far behind I thought I was first

For a very brief moment I started gaining some traction

But now raising 2 great granddaughters .. I'm back to a crawl ... but that's OK

I've said it before and I will say it again ... I am so grateful to Everybody that submits XCLNT pix of all the diecast cars, the set ups, the backgrounds & the custom builds ... Everybody and everything is so refreshing

As in everything ... D4C has changed and I for one - I think for the better

LG

Life is Good

So is the D4C and all within 😉

The sad absence of any further model car releases in 1/24 by either of the

Mints has meant that critiquing models as a previously enjoyed past time now made pretty much redundant. So what is left to talk about? As a relitive newcomer to both 1/24 and this forum the answer seems to be pretty much within the perametres just described here in Tom's observation. But with this change in emphasis and subject matter there may have been a possibility of the 24 scale forum heading into obscurity, but the forum and the comaradery of like minded souls keeps on with changed topic choices that help sustain the importantance of maintaining the daily contact among friends, many of who I imagine, have been here from the start.

LOL! I've been lapped by the leader SEVERAL TIMES. I don't care. I go my own speed...

...in real '1:1' life and in 1:24.

I was thinking yesterday...
How many 1:24s have I bought SINCE '2014'. That number is probably between 40 - 50. Several were $200+; but, I've bought a lot of 'cheapies' - under $60 - to fill in my collection. M2, First Gear, JADA, Spec Cast, Crown Premium 'all' do some very respectable 1:24s.

'Real life' does slow down my collecting budget sometimes. But, that's OK. This is not a race.... and 'the hunt' is half the fun.

Chav, you hit the nail on the head. It'll depend on the young collectors - as they get older.
