Nice setups there today Hollis, particularly pic 3, building lights, small groups of people, placement of accessories and car, well done sir!
I'm diggin all of these shots. And I'm still drooling over the red/black '55.🤤😁
I never tire of your daily service station pics Hollis as it brings back the very many great memories I have of gas station life back in the old days. Like many Forumites I worked as a teenager in service stations, enjoyed every minute of it and learned a lot. The opening up morning procedure, the smells (gas, oil, exhaust, cigarettes...lol), sounds of the "ding ding" gas pump customer arrival, tire air machine, tire repair machine, cash register, sliding noise of the credit card machine, clinking of tools, revving of engines, the piercing of oil cans, the clicking of gas pump tumblers in operation and the gas nozzle indicating fill up was complete, the "pop" of the acetylene torch, the air wheel wrench, the rollers on the bay doors, the clatter of the pop machine bottles, the conversation, bs'ing and joking around......I could go on. It is all stamped in my brain and makes me smile every time I think back on it. So thanks Hollis.
@jack-dodds Jack, you covered them all. Because of my age, we didn't have the credit card machine.
I'll bet you forgot it Bob. It wasn't around real long in the scheme of things. You handed them a card and they put it in a small rectangular metal machine. over a multicopy receipt packet. They slid a handle over the length of the machine and then back, imprinting it with info on your purchase. Soon thereafter they went to the digital charging used now.@jack-dodds Jack, you covered them all. Because of my age, we didn't have the credit card machine.
