Ben. As far as cheaper models go, not calling something 1:24 when it's 1:26 The way I feel about my Motormax cars is, they were not expensive, I could tweak them, which I did, and they fit the bill perfectly. Sometimes, I'm glad they didn't all cost as much as my beloved DM's and FM's. If I liked them enough to buy them, then they all have a place in a case.

I took them apart and sprayed the interiors brown. I added ariel numbers then, I added antennas. Of course I broke all the spot lights. See, there's another good reason to have some cheaper models.

I really him hawed around about getting this one. I have no idea if the CHP even uses these but I was finally glad when I bit the bullet. This was a whopping $24.95 and as far as I am concerned, it did its job very well.

I added the decals, ariel numbers (I guess that's what you'd call them) and the antenna oh, and his girls name on the doors of the cab.

Now, this isn't bad for twenty five bucks. If I had the talent of say, The Jersey Junker, I could tweak this thing all day long. It's really a nice canvas if you follow my drift.

I think it was Gene Mills who turned me on tho this little V-Dub for about $15. Cargo door opens and it displays very nicely with the FM versions.

Every movie needs it's stars but with out the supporting actors, it would be a pretty boring movie.
Besides, when you get it all working together well, you be the judge.

That is just my opinion. I have a strange love for model cars....
I have to rescue them all. When I see the ones for sale at the flea market, I have to buy them, because they might get thrown out. And the last place a model car should be is in a landfill.
Please don't read my post wrong. I value yours and everyone else's opinions. I just like to rescue the underdogs of diecast cars.
But don't be fooled. My collection consists of the best 100+ cars Danbury offered from the Golden Age of 1/24, and some pretty pricey 1/43's. And also about 8,000 Johnny Lightnings on cards and everyone hand picked.
Very nice Jim.... Thanks for posting!
At one time I had about 20 Welly models and the scales were all clearly labeled on the packaging 1/26, 1/27 and even 1/28
Yep!
Same here! I never thought Welly was trying to hide anything. I have a 53 Black it is smaller but none other is available so I'm OK with what I could get. I collect many scales so size is less important. When I was a Kid I was ONLY 1/25th Nothing else time has changed things.
I do not know about the other model with Welly is being compared is real 1:24. may be 1:22 or 1:23..
Thats why Welly is looking smaller... there are chances....
