Well, it wasn't 8 tiny reindeer. I keep seeing this commercial on TV of this $600 Vyper wheeled garage stool and in every scene the guy is working on some ridiculously rare and expensive collector car which, I would assume, the price tag on this chair wouldn't faze him at all. I was really tickled to see a beautiful red 1954 Buick Skylark. I don't know what styling cue on this car stands out to me the most. Perhaps the racy wheel well cutouts with contrasting paint made what I considered a rather homely Buick Century in stock form. Maybe its those cool chromed taillamp housings and waterfall with cutouts that act like side markers. The wraparound windscreen borrowed from their Centurion concept car also gave the car a sleeker look. The waffle patterned interior also revealed every possible electronic option as standard. And, I love the cute little skylark logo on the quarter panels too. With only 836 Skylarks sold, it seems that many potential buyers were put off that Buick used the shorter Century platform over the longer Roadmaster as was used for the '53 Skylark. Who knows. Buick used some really pretty color combinations on these cars.
