Le Mans models started a series of Le Mans winning cars in 1/24 which was great news for 1/24 collectors who, up to then, were basically deprived of an entire genre. Well, for whatever reason, after a few really nice curbside resin models, they disappeared. This 1970 Porsche 917K Le Mans winner was one of their entries.
Beautiful model Rich. Sales may have not been enough to risk development of further models. This one looks fantastic but I don't know the price-point.
Also, there has been a lot of industrial restructuring in China over the last several years.
Is the door permanently open for display?
Thanks Rich, that LM Minatures/Spark Le Mans series look brilliant. I check ebay regularly for them but they are only rarely seen and at hefty prices. Hachette et al has produced a few of them, however as Lu pointed out in his Unique post a while ago they are not as detailed. I will eventually get one basically just to check it out. Here are few pics from a French ebay Hachette seller I have bought other models from.
@david-green The door is fixed in the open position. I got it as a review piece so I don't know what they sold for. I don't even remember what models I have from that series. I'm kinda waiting for our Lists and Reviews to become more negotiable.
