I saw that one too Geoff, you could probably get a restorable 1/1 for that much!
As much as I would like to hope that one day my collection would bring money like that, but I know that won't be the case.
This model’s selling price has baffled me for years. I believe there were just about as many of these manufactured as the DM 1958 Pontiac in blue and in red. But this one brings sky high prices. Go figure. I have tracked the selling price of this one on ebay (and many other DM, TFM, and others) since 2013 and here are the statistics: average selling price ~ 418.00, minimum selling price ~ 260.00, maximum selling price ~ 740.00. This is based on 34 sales.
JMHO, I believe the color combo, plus it being a limited edition are the factors. Mine is #345 of 5,000.😊
It's tempting to sell but I like it too much. Wouldn't sell the red cv either
yes Greg, and no doubt also watching their postage costs to Australia! Counts me out of their sales@geoff-jowett Geoff I too have been watching this seller
interesting, thanks Douglas. I too have noticed the same trend over the years. For example DMs 67 Pontiac, convertible sells for more than the hardtop, the DM 54 Cadillac the hardtop sells for much more than the convertible! I'm sure there are others. This model’s selling price has baffled me for years. I believe there were just about as many of these manufactured as the DM 1958 Pontiac in blue and in red. I'm a keen market watcher, all forms, from way back!
@geoff-jowett Agree, postage is very high, I would like to know how postage is calculated...
