Sheriff Buford, out on afternoon patrol, spots crooked trucker Delbert and his swamper Maurice doing a quick "Coca Cola for cash" deal at the Hwy. 17 rest stop.  Opportunist Buford, satchel in hand, conveniently decides to conduct a roadside safety inspection of the old GMC and predictably finds many questionable defects. With a long look, the corrupt lawman suggests to Delbert that he needs to return to his patrol car for a few minutes to consider whether a fine or a verbal warning is appropriate.  After several minutes Buford hears the clinking of bottles and checks his rear view mirrors.  Liking what he sees, Buford calls Delbert over to receive his warning; advising him to make himself scarce.  As the old GMC disappears from view Buford, scans the area for unwanted witnesses, then loads up the trunk of his Mercury; pleased that he now has refreshments for the upcoming hot spell.

From the desk of Jack Dodds,a SHORT story today....perhaps pre-prepared as a screenplay  THIS is so well done Jack  We called in the key players for supplementary shots but found sufficient supply on the cutting room floor, along with evidence of bumpular abuse by the propmaster
