...if we still received this great magazine from Danbury Mint?  Sure miss the good old days of NEW 1:24 scale diecast.

I really enjoyed the Magazine. I think that I still have a couple of them around here somewhere.

I cannot for the life of me understand why one of the large and successful other scale manufacturers do not give 1/24 a go. Surely the demand is there.

@geoff-jowett,

that has been my exact thought since the bottom fell out for Danbury, Franklin, and a few of the other smaller companies.  There is for sure a market for 1:24 scale, and logic would say that some company could capitalize on it.  And here's the thing, whoever would produce them, wouldn't have to elaborate on many "bells and whistles" that became the normal for those former mint productions.  I honestly think that if a well detailed to precision scale model were produced, and once word got out, we buyers/collectors would be all over them.  And I know this has been said before, but while talking of this possibility, most of us as collectors have our models on shelves and in display cases, so whether the "gas cover cap" flips open or not, should not be something that would deter them from adding a nicely done model to their fleet.

LOL, do you think that if all of us banded together and held our breath, it could happen?  Smile Sure is nice to dream of it happening, that's for sure!

I have all the books from Danbury and Franklin stored away somewhere.  I would never throw them out as I kept them to remind me of vehicles that I wanted to buy but could not at the time the book was delivered.

LOL, I like the comment "stored away somewhere".  My friend Jay Garrick says that all the time, but sadly, if he had a loaded gun to his head, he'd be unable to pinpoint exactly where "the something" is that he has "stored away somewhere".  With him, the reality is he doesn't know where "the something" is, and it's likely he doesn't even really have it anymore.  But he is happy thinking he does.  Not saying this is the case with you John Napoli, but you made me chuckle thinking of my friend Jay.

@georgeschire George I’m actually happy I made you chuckle. And believe it or not I do know where they actually are. You were in a cabinet in my garage stored away with every Danbury mint and Franklin mint pamphlets and all my car information in looseleaf binders.

Ah for the days of Tony and Rich's pictures making me struggle with the household money available for these irresistible  models.

LOL Bob, I was in the same boat.  Back in those days, there was the house payment, school tuition, car payments, regular monthly bills, and groceries.  Not to mention other misc. things where our money went.  Then that catalog would arrive and it was sneaking a way to make a model or two or three fit in the budget too.  In hindsight those were fun times!!!   Now the irony, the home is paid for, there is no more school tuition or car payments...and now NO 1.24 diecast to buy.  Doesn't seem fair.
