During 2000s- early 2010s Australian model manufacturers were on the top of their developing producing precision diecast models by a reasonable price. Sadly, in the mid 2010s things changed- Trax moved to expensive resin, others focused mainly on 1/18 scale.
Classic Carlectables were established in the mid 90s. I found the first mention about this company in 1997 MAR issues. The first models were rather simple and dudn't have interior under black windows. Things changed in early 2000s when Classic Carlectables released a series of superb detailed models. For the 100 years Anniversary of the Ford Motor Company they made a selection of incredible cars.
The 1934 Ford Utility is one of them. My model isn't from jubilee edition and packed into a standard golden box. All detailes are magnuficent- chrome parts, separate door handles, spoked wheels, nice interior. The main feature is absolutely spectacular baseplate reproducing parts of transmission, suspension and exhaust system. To look all these details manufacturer made glass podium. The model also has opening part of the truck section and a tilt which you can fix if you wish.
All models by Classic Carlectables were completed with certificate.
Love the model, pictures and writeup Fred. Thanks for the post.
Very nice and I like the detail.
I'd like to add that 1/43 Classic Carlectables series included also the 1933 Ford V8 Coupe, the 1965 Ford Cortina Mk1, 1967- 71 Falcons in different modifications ( some of them had opening bonnet), 1990s Ford Pickups. Hope to open a separate Classic Carlectables topic in future.
