Western Models Limited was a company making detailed white metal or pewter model vehicles, mostly cars in 1/43 scale. They were made in Taunton, Somerset, in southwestern England. Models were either in kit or built form. The company ceased production of cars about 2007 to focus solely on contemporary aircraft models. The original factory closed in 2012. HobbyDB has additional information. See also, https://www.hobbytalk.com/threads/western-models-diecast-production-history.593279/

While looking through my old files from 2019, I came across a list of all model white metal kits made by Western Models which I thought worth sharing.

Most of these were also sold in fully built versions.

Western produced a lot of models for other brands; those are not reflected here. I cannot remember what the * signified.

I have the same list with the undefined * !  Albert Kopans said Dick Browne put it together around 2010...  "It's a small world..."

Thanks for the list. Western Models waa one of the most significant white metal manufacturers. A part of the models were avsilable also in a kit form.

Mike Stephens was producing miniatures not only under his own brand but by orders of Automobilia, Kim's Classics, Metal 43 etc.

Sadly in 2000s he decided to retire and stopped production of model cars in 2007. Western Models continued producing planes but of course this topic isn't so interesting for fans of precision 1/43 cars.

As far as I know Dave Kirkel purchased this brand and produced some models with SMTS. Appatently, a couple years ago Route 66 left a game and stopped producing all its brands- Conquest, Madison, Highway Travellers and WMCE.

Sadly, resin from.China now is everywhere.

I forgot to add that Western Models also produced Small Wheels series. Sady, I don't have its list but remembet that there were such cars as the 1958 Ford Custom 300 and 1959 Ford Fairline. Would be nice to add Small Wheels list to this topic.

Now we just need the WRK list - racing cars. I had quite a few of those, including the Tyrrell 6-wheeler. There were also models made for Toys for Collectors (TfC), including this Chrysler pace car (TfC 6).

@fred-eliseeff I think the last Conquest, WMCE, etc. model produced by Route 66 Model Car Store was in 2025.

According to SMTS the last models for Dave Kirkel were produced 2- 3 years ago. I think that they are still in sell in Route 66 store.

Here's a couple of Western Models that never had a Western part number. Of course being a woodie collector, they're a favorite. !939 Ford Deluxe Stations in their two Western Models offered colors which look to be Mandarin Maroon and Yosomite Green. The molds were later used by Motor City with positive modifications to the wood framing.

Here are two Western Models that never had Western part numbers and are not on that list. 1939 Ford Deluxe Station Wagons. Later there molds were used by Motor City with enhanced modifications of more accurate wood framing in their production of the Design Studios version of their '39 wagon.
