I am not a member may i can esperate to see the 1946 Pontiac on the Brooklin website? The others NB Center models and the engine are always available on the site but the Pontiac looks so popular.

I think Brooklin are still gathering orders from the BCC members and if there are any left, they will appear on the Brooklin website.

@karl If there are any left this is what i thought. I wonder how many members will order the Pontiac? What happens if there are for examples 50 models made and 55 members who order? Even for members it is not sure! A mud fight will determine the winner of the last remaining model 😉

Brooklin is in the business to sell models. I'm sure that as long as the orders keep coming in, they will continue to pump out more Pontiac models.After all, they will not state how many will be made. That tells you something. Just look at the existing NB Collection. They have been on sale for over a year now and all of them are still available. Not one of them has had the sales capped.Don't let "limited quantity' fool you. Its just a tactic to sell models now and grow the BCC membership..

In a way, Ken, you're correct. But one of the problems Brooklin faced prior to the reorganization was overstock. This initial run of Pontiacs was about 45 units. At some point, there may be more on the way. It's hard to say if or when that might happen. But the days of an ever-lasting, ever-available inventory are gone. Yes, Brooklin would like to see the club grow, but none of this is a trick to get more members. It's a business plan to keep Brooklin viable, and that means no excess inventory sitting around waiting to be purchased. The club is a reasonable resource to help make that happen, a ready and eager group that has the potential to clean those shelves before overstock can become a burden. At this point, becoming a member is a little of a no-brainer. If you join, you're, at least, given a good shot at getting a new model like this Pontiac. The club dues are more than offset by the savings. If you're not a member, you have to hope there are some leftover or that they may make more...but even then, you will pay a higher price.

I've spent hours talking with Simon and the crew at the NB Foundation. I've heard their hearts. They are committed to our hobby and are now offering something no one else is offering. To top it off, this level of participation with a club is unprecedented. It's Brooklin saying, we will first take care of those who support us by being part of an organization that is focused on our fans. It should work for everyone interested.

@jkuvakas I have been a BCC member for many years and it has been a very positive and enjoyable experience; including several trips to Brooklin anniversary functions at Bath.  Fantastic people running it too.

Not true Ken, there are two different colored 1963 Buick Riviera models that sold out early this year and Brooklin has not made any more of them.

I have inquired to Brooklin about both of them and was told they will not be producing anymore of these 2 models.

@ben-lampson

Thanks for the update.  I have wondered whether Brooklin would make additional NB Center models for one previously produced, when the stock runs out.  You answered my question.

Maybe it is time for us to think about buying a model, we might have earlier passed.

This may appear to be a strange question, is it possible to buy one of the original NB Center models in the new style display case?

@ed-davis The NBCC 1940 Lincoln Zephyr came with this display case when I bought it earlier this year. I don't know about the others in the Collection.

I only collect resin models but I made an exception and ordered the Pontiac because I believe it will be nice for the subject of a very basic and no frill car.

@ed-davis, I'm betting that all future NB Center models will have the new display case. Anything currently in stock and made prior to the Rivieras will have the original case those models came in.

John, I agree with your comment that Brooklin can not continue to operate with overstocked models.To suggest that only 45 Pontiacs and no more will be made period, suggests that Brooklins days are numbered IF the aim is to make a profit. Assuming a price of 225 pounds per model after discounts/gift cards and a 50% markup, their gross profit on 45 Pontiacs would be 5040 pounds. If they issued one new model a month(which they won't), I rather doubt that rent, utilities,salaries,material costs, etc. could be covered on a monthly basis even with the downsize being considered and sales revenue from past models in inventory .I think it has been proven that the largest percentage of a new models sales occurs when it is first issued and gradually sales trickle out over time. Yes, they will have revenue from sales of stock on hand however, if stock levels have been drastically reduced, there is not significant stock to sell. And yes, I think they are still making small batches of past models because I keep getting emails from them offering discounts so why shouldn't we expect the same with the 46 Pontiac? My point is, if their are more than 45 orders, more than 45 cars will be made, albeit in small batches of say 10-20. No one will be left without a model.I imagine that the 2 colors of the Riviera are no longer available because why do you need to keep a model in production in 3 colors when you can still get one in the remaining color-after all none of the other NBC models are offered in multiple colors. I rather doubt that Brooklin will ever close its doors as long as Bulgari is at the helm. My personal feeling ,although I have no proof is that he is keeping the company running, albeit,  at a loss ,in order to fulfill his love of cars, ie. to build the Bulgari collection and more importantly from the modellers perspective, to make a model of each of his prized cars for whatever reason.He has been doing this all along in the past and I see no reason why he won't continue. Perhaps having Brooklin owned by someone with deep pockets and who loves cars is the best thing that Brooklin and us collectors could have hoped for.

On a lighter note, my 46 Pontiac is scheduled for delivery by DHL this coming Monday. I really appreciate the discount and use of gift cards offered by Brooklin to make the purchase a little easier. It helps ease the pain in swallowing the additional charges. Although out of Brooklin's control, it has cost me an additional $115.06  Canadian dollars in charges over the cost of the model (shipping, taxes and customs clearance fees).I know these charges are going to impact my future buying choices. I wish there was a better way to handle these purchases.

I think It's been a long time maybe even more than 3 years since the Pontiac 46 was announced and at that time I thought it would simply come out in the Brooklin range or the BML range if that was existed at this time at a lower price of the NB Center Collection even if less detailed and not necessarily in the same color range as the Pontiac in the museum. 115 CDN it is unbelievable. I can't imagine how much i would pay at the end if i order one. I payed around 65 cnd for the Lincoln. I'm not able to follow at this cost unless I inherit from a rich old aunt that I don't know somewhere?
