1949 Fordson E494 5CWT Van in white metal by Somerville.

In the late 1940s in Yorkshire, England my father ran a plastics manufacturing company called GMI.

They had a small fleet of Fordson 5 hundredweight vans for company deliveries. Last October I was lucky enough at the CTCS Toronto show to find a built version in green with Castrol markings. My father's vans were blue with GMI on the sides. The vans were quite small by North American standards.

Charming truck.... yes, "small."   I'd imagine a few must've surely been re-worked into gassers!  😎 😎

With today's digital graphics, you could likely get someone to produce a copy of your father's van.

Corgi made a slew of these. The first, with S A Peacock markings, is still a favorite.

@jack-dodds I don't have this but I really like it. I only have a few Somerville models and find them charming.
