At the rear of one of my display cases, I remembered this 1/43 racecar transporter by OLDCARS.

Its a mid 1950s Fiat 642 RN2 Bartoletti Ferrari Transporter as used by Ferrari for Formula 1.

Here is the model.

P1080266
P1080267

Here is the actual full size version.

f12235
f42235
f82235

Very nice model and photographs too. I particularly like the contemporary shot and wonder where it is. We seem to have a Porsche, Jaguar, Fiat, Peugeot all present as my eyes detect, so we could be anywhere. Po valley: what do our racing experts think?

Italy - just noticed the policeman's tall cap.

I also have the 'old' Old Cars Bartoletti. I got mine at a bargain price from a friend.

Looks like it is available - how far do you live from Berkshire?

Many thanks Karl, this sort of thing drives me mad, and I've just confirmed Belgian police's tall cap - seen in 1955 at Messina Bros. trial. Sometimes I have to pause a movie for some investigation,  because I've caught sight of an A pillar and have to know what sort of car the protagonist is about to be murdered in.

That is a serious addiction Charles, but I think a lot of our members, including me, share it. Good detective work.

I remember a few months ago reading/seeing that CMC made a transporter in 1/43, I think it was a Fiat, not sure of the year and they are pretty pricey if you can find one for sale.

@old-caddys You might be thinking of Exoto. I missed a chance on one at a bargain price a few years ago by checking someone else's table at a swapmeet, turned around and it was gone. CMC may be making one in 1:18. The only 1:43 CMC transport I now of is this one.

(@mg-harv) Harvey, I think you're 100% correct about Exoto doing the 1/43 Fiat transporter. I've got CMC on the brain right now as I'm trying to decide which of their 1/18 models I want to add to my collection. I've already got one 1/18 Exoto (and hope to have more) in my collection and want to have at least one 1/18 CMC in my collection while I can still afford it before I retire and my income becomes a little more "fixed".
