John Merritt replied to my recent post showing Brooklin’s ‘58 Buick Roadmaster finished in Laurel mist. He said the Silver Mist is his favorite. A characteristic of the silver one is that the lack of chrome detail is not as obvious as it is on the two other colors. It’s a pretty car.

I think it's a beautiful car as 1:1 and in model form. Even if it's a highly chromed automobile, that Dyna-Star grille and the whole vehicle itself is rather magnificent !
I really like the overall style of the 58 Buick, I just think that in general, it is very garish and over chromed. I probably like the silver best because it tones that down and has a more pleasing look, at least to my eyes.

I agree, John. I like the overall design. I don't mind the chrome. Every time I see one of these in person, I'm reminded of how magnificent it is. It was beautifully rendered, regal, and incredibly large in every respect. I always thought one could live comfortably in the back seat!

@jcarnutz The Silver Mist Brooklin Buick and the Silver Mist actual Buick when photographed in Black and white seem almost hard to tell one from the other as shown here.
Brooklin really captured the look of this 1958 Buick.
