Following on from Karl's catalogue post here is one from the famous toy car company - Mercury from Italy.
The cover image of Mercury's 1959 catalogue showing their Fiat car transporter and trailer with car load.
Scale for this model and the cars shown loaded on the decks is 1:48th.
It was an impressive model for it's time and featured working winch to elevate the tailboard to the top deck.

That transporter certainly is impressive, Chris ! I have an old diecast Fiat 128 from Mercury and it is very nicely done.

I have seen the Mercury Fiat car transporter on two occasions and it is impressive in the metal. The tail gate on both the truck and trailer section can be raised and lowered to lift the cars onto or off the transporter sections. A wonderful toy.
