Le Mans Winning 1960 #11 Ferrari 250TR 60 built from Starter kit.LM060
This Ferrari was driven to victory by Paul FRERE (BEL) and Olivier GENDEBIEN (BEL) securing Ferrari's fourth Le Mans victory and starting a six-year winning streak for the marque. They completed 314 laps, 4 ahead of the second placed car, another Ferrari.
This specific model was an evolution of the successful 250 TR, featuring a new five-speed gearbox and disc brakes, and achieved the win despite challenging weather conditions.
thats a great build David, well done. Actually my IXO Ferrari 166MM #22 Winner 24h LeMans 1949 Chinetti, Seldson turned up a couple of hours after your post. Lengthy report on the 1949 race in Wikipedia. Apparently the first Le Mans held at the circuit since end of the war. Some wonderful car names featured. Delage, Delahaye, Fraser Nash, Bentley, Aston Martin, Healey, Talbot Lago.
The winning Ferrari 166 MM crosses the finish line, with Chinetti driving.
Very nice model Geoff. Chinetti had ties to Ferrari through, I think, a Florida Ferrari dealership that he owned so it is fitting that he won the first race after WWII. Thanks for the write-up and pictures.
I have this winning Number 22 Ferrari 166MM in resin similar to the 1960 from Starter with good detail. Your IXO matches it well.
Two beautiful models and info gentlemen!! Thank you David & Geoff!!
