Just finished the altered Brooklin 1961 Impala into a convertible.

Just noticed from the pictures that my trunk emblem fell off during photo shoot. Time to get out the magnifying glass and get down on all fours.

Very nice! I think this Brooklin casting is way better as a convertible that what it started out as. I also like the ditched fender skirts. Much improved!

Yep ! + 1 here. Years ago it was suggested that I lay a huge white bedsheet at my work station in case parts made an escape...worked great for me !

Not only do I spread a white/beige towel when opening or working on my models.
I also put one (a beach towel size) under my photo setup. I do this just in case something flings off during movement or dusting. It has saved a little part more than once.

Very nice work, Ken! I love the '61 Impala in all variations, and this one of yours looks great. I see that you removed the skirts as well--I think the car looks much better without them.
John Roberts did one of these conversions for me several years ago, and I still smile every time I look at that model. I've sent a couple of photos to John Kuvakas and asked him to post them for me, as my computer will not let me post photos from my photo-file.
Hope to see more of your conversions in the future!
