Here I must apologize if this year was before the fake convertible tops
I remember. But there were in the Chicagoland area many dealers who had local trim shops do tops for this car. The lines of a convertible just begged for it. And it wasn't long before the GM factory got the hint and did their own vinyl tops. From the response to Sergio's request I'm certain this will be a popular model in almost any scheme. It is a great looking Chevrolet.

According to "Collectible Automobile," 1963 was the first year that the vinyl top was available on Impala Sport Coupes, in black or white. I always loved the look of that top with the two creases to simulate a convertible top. It looked good on solid-color cars as well as two-tones.

I was thinking save black with red interior for a convertible.
