This is the prototype and first deco sample of the 1963 Buick Riviera coming soon from Goldvarg Collection.

There are still some minor issues to improve. Please note that the model will have the side windows down, as in all Goldvarg, so you may appreciate the interior detail.

Looks good, but I like the next version.  A neighbor had one similar to this:

@d-m-holcombe, I have a very soft spot for the Boattail Rivs too, David.

This will be my first Goldvarg! I've been waiting for one from you. Funds are limited, so I must be more discerning in what I purchase.  I shall place a pre-order soon.

@jkuvakas

There is a strong argument that the back window design was copied from the C2 Corvette John...but I don't start rumors, I only spread them!

I am also a big fan of the boattail Buicks.

Buz has the WMCE boattail Buick as the model of the month for February on sale.

@ben-lampson, you're right on the mark. Bill Mitchell was involved with the designs for both vehicles, the '63 Corvette and the '71 Riviera. He was open in admitting the boattail for both cars was inspired by the Auburn Speedster and the rear backlight for the Riv was to mimic the Vette sans the split.

I have mine on order in Teal Mist and it will be displayed next to the MiniMarque in Champaign. I too like the boat tails and acquired the gold one from Buz.

I've been looking at pictures of the TSM (True Scale Miniatures) 1971 Buick Riviera, as its more moderate price appeals to me.  But is it really 1:43 scale?   Could someone with TSM experience comment?   Thanks, David H
