Hi All,

Here are some pics showing Stamp's 1964 Coupe DeVille versus Goldvarg's 1964 Cadillac DeVille convertible.

Both have their weak and strong points.  I'll let you be the judge, but I will say that Stamp's hubcaps are near perfection when compared to the real thing, but they fell short on the grill by eliminating the vertical bars. Goldvarg's interior details are fantastic knowing that you would see it and they used more photo etched trim versus silver paint.  The Goldvarg was also priced lower.

Here is a great ad for the Coupe in the same Matador Red.

Enjoy!

Thanks Alfred for this wonderful comparison. I haven't gotten around to looking at mine together yet. I did notice some of the differences you mentioned, but I am pleased with them both.

Nice post! You're right, those wheel covers on the Samp look spectacular.

It would be nice if GLM sold parts like Brooklin so I could swap those wheels on my GV.

A fine comparison, Alfred, and when I clicked on your pictures, they enlarged enough that I could really see those great wheels, that pitiful grill, and other factors both positive and negative.  I am pleased in both for having more positives than negatives.  Your good post, however, also convinced me that I really don't need this pair, individually or together.  In scale right now I'm working on a '49 Mercury;  more my speed, I guess.

Those missing vertical grill pieces are a real let down on the Stamp model.  I'm very happy with my Goldvarg but would like a coupe to go with it.  Sergio?

How about that Bob's Big Boy? Any details on that - who made it, etc?   Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and feedback.

I have seen someone correct the grill over on the French forums. It makes a world of difference. I may try, but my eyesight and hands are no longer what they used to be.

@tedweller

The Bob's Big Boy is made by Funko under the Funko Pop! Town series. It also comes with a Bob's Big Boy statue. Not quite 1/43, but looks good.  It's still readily available so you should be able to find one to buy.

Hunting for something else, I just found this 1963 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible by FRANKLIN MINT in a display case here.  I thought it had an interesting grill treatment, both front and rear.  The headlights are "inventive."

As to what those young folk are doing in that convertible, don't blame me!

(And I just put the tail lights on that Mercury.  Busy evening!)

I asked Claude T. to re-work that Franklin Mint Eldorado for me...

@alfredgee

How was this done? It definitely makes the model look much better.
