I just got back from the CTCS show in Toronto. Great show, lots of models that I wanted. While the show is normally held every October, a special show was added this year to make up for the cancellation of the shows for the past 2 years due to Covid. This show will be held again this coming October. I managed to walk away with one purchase: a 1952 Packard Pinin Farina Coupe. I have never seen this car before. The box says Show Stoppers on it. I believe that this car was commissioned by the Packard Museum in Dayton Ohio. I have issue 51 of 200. Thats all I know about the car. If anyone has any information, please share. The vendor said that it is a very rare car and came from an estate of a deceased collector. I talked him down to $200 Can (about $150 US).Hope I got a fair price.
Ken -- sorry I missed you; I was there too. I believe I saw the table where you picked up this interesting piece (of which I know nothing about....). Don't recall seeing it there (so I probably got there after you did), but there were several other Packard models (Minimarque and others) for sale from a recently decased collector. I was impressed at how many Dinky Toys were there, along with Solido and Corgi too. Maybe I'll see you in October (if not sooner at the Pierce Arrow Museum in Buffalo someday).

@skip. I wondered if maybe you might be attending.Sorry I missed you. I left to head home just around 10:00AM.That was the vendor where I purchased the model. I saw all of the Minimarque '30s Packards but didn't open any of them. I thought that he was asking a bit much for them. I will be going again to the October show. Never know what you might find. Perhaps we can meet up before the show. I will definitely get in touch if I get around to going to the Pierce Arrow museum in Buffalo.
I once owned this model - I believe Dale Dannefer had a hand in getting them made.
And a green one: "Authorized by The Packard Museum, Dayton, Ohio,":

Hi Ken,
You bought that item from my table at the CTCS show. I know you from here but did not get your name. My friend Ken Munro died recently and was an avid collector of Packard cars. I brought about 20 better quality models of his to the show, a small portion of his collection. I did find one of this Shop Stoppers Packard that sold at high price last year but like you, don't know the background. It is a very nice model. Your payment is going to charity. Look for me at the CTCS October show.
By the way, due to the huge storm in Southern Ontario, attendance at this show was very low. Better next time, I hope.
@david-green.Hi David. Small world. Never realized it was you that I was talking to. Could you possibly email me at kenspear@rogers.com.
