As John Quilter posted yesterday, the ‘54 Buick was among those whose station wagon bodies were supplied to Buick by Ionia Manufacturing. They started out as Buick sedans. And for ‘54 only, Ionia built 4 door wagons for Dodge based on Dodge’s 2 door wagon. For a number of years Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and Buick station wagon bodies were supplied by Ionia using sedan bodies as a base for the wagons. The ‘57 Oldsmobile Fiesta was one of them.
Brooklin did a nice Fiesta wagon originally offered in a solid yellow later to be followed by several additional paint schemes. In addition, craftsmen like John Roberts and John White did additional custom versions. This is one by John Roberts that he did for me in 2004 and is one of my favorites

Very nice model and interesting notes on the conversion of these wagons. It must have been more economical to subcontract the work to Ionia than to retool specifically for the wagons. Leaving Ionia to work on smaller margins, I guess?
Great looking Buick wagons and Brooklin models of them. John Roberts has done some superb work on details and upgrading these wagon beauties.
