Finally got to add this beautiful model of a very special car to my collection. I've read so many articles over the years about the 1:1, billed as "America's Fastest Sedan" for 1957, putting the big 327 cu. in. V-8 from the Nash Ambassador into the mid-size 4-door hardtop body. A Limited Edition of only 1,500 were produced, all painted in this unique color combo.

Brooklin did a fabulous job replicating this historically significant automobile! I'm loving it!

Nice! Thanks for posting this Moe.

I've always wanted this Brooklin. Don't know why I've continually put off a purchase.

An excellent article on the '57 Rebel from Hemmings here

...and a more technical Hemmings article on the never-produced Bendix Electrojector System (fuel injection) here

(my vote for the first muscle car goes to the 1936 Buick Century)

@john-sharisky

I'd had my eye on it for quite a while, too. I decided to be patient, and wait for the right combination of price and condition to present itself. It finally did, and I'm so happy with it!

One thing you can say about Rambler styling... they were unique.

Try as they may, the big three tried to deny this car's performance. Good addition Barry.

This is a great model. I saw a 1:1 a few years back and while researching I discovered this Brooklin gem. I knew about it, but hadn't really looked into the model's features.

I found one fairly easily and added it, at the time I thought was a great price under $100. I've taken photos of it, but don't believe I have ever posted them-need to check that out. This was a early Brooklin model addition to my collection-and I pleased to have it.

Congratulations Moe in finding a nice model for you collection. It is a wonderful representation of a very unique car. I've only seen one 1:1, I don't know how many exist, but I am betting they are very rare. So having a model of it is great.

One of my favorite early Brooklins.  Quite an unusual looking "fastest car of the year".
